A crowned Baden lion couchant appears at her lower left. Below the figure, the denomination 1. GULDEN is inscribed on a raised exergual line. The circular legend reads 1. BAD. LANDESSCHIESSEN MANNHEIM 28. JUNI 1863 around the periphery, commemorating the first Baden State Shooting Festival held in Mannheim on 28 June 1863.
