备注

Dutch New Guinea remained under Netherlands administration after Indonesian independence, and its separate currency was a deliberate political assertion — The Hague maintaining that the territory's future was unresolved. This 1 Gulden note was issued under that arrangement, part of a series that would become obsolete when the Netherlands transferred administration to a UN temporary authority in 1962, then to Indonesia in 1963.

Enschedé's Haarlem plant handled the printing, as it did for most Dutch colonial paper issues of the period. The watermark security is modest for the denomination, reflecting the note's low purchasing-power role in a small, isolated economy.
