Obverse description The Polish state eagle displayed with wings spread, facing dexter, wearing a crown; the bird is rendered in a stylized Art Deco manner with elaborately detailed plumage and scrolled wing feathers. The circular legend reads RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA, interrupted at the base by the mint mark W (Warsaw Mint), with the date flanking the eagle's head in the upper field. The designer's initials JW appear in the field near the eagle's talons.
