Reverse description An ornate floriated cross with fleur-de-lis terminals fills the reverse field, the four arms each terminating in elaborate curvilinear foliate scrollwork extending to the coin's edge. The cross is rendered in a decorative Renaissance style with fine detailing in each quadrant. A date from the coinage period appears within or adjacent to the cross design. The overall composition is symmetrical and characteristic of the billon grosso coinage of the Gonzaga rulers of Montferrat.
