| Descrizione del dritto | Two standing figures face one another across a central vertical bar: at left, the Marquis Theodore I Palaeologus depicted in full regalia, and at right, Saint Martin of Tours, who presents a banner or standard to the Marquis. Both figures are rendered in the flat, hieratic Byzantine-influenced style typical of North Italian medieval coinage. A Latin legend runs along the outer border of the coin, partially visible around the circumference of the irregularly shaped flan. |
