| Obverse description | Central field bears the Malatesta heraldic shield surmounted by a crested helmet with ornate mantling and flourishes, the whole comprising the arms of Pandolfo III Malatesta as Lord of Brescia. A prominent Gothic initial 'P' appears to the left of the shield in the field. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, separated by a beaded inner ring, reading PANDVLF DE MALATEST D BRIXIE, identifying the issuer and his lordship over Brescia. |
