| Reverse description | A frontal half-length figure of Christ enthroned in Majesty, nimbed with a cross-halo, depicted within a stylised architectural frame composed of two ornate pillars with beaded decoration on either side, closely imitating the Venetian Matapan (grosso) type. Christ raises his right hand in benediction and holds the Gospels in his left. Greek-style abbreviation letters IC XC appear flanking the figure in the upper field. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border, characteristic of the hammered coinage of the period. |
