The composition is rendered in high relief in the Gothic heraldic style typical of mid-14th-century Lombard coinage. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which runs the circular Latin legend naming Luchino Visconti and Milan. The flan is irregular, as characteristic of hammered medieval silver. |
