| Beschrijving voorzijde | Two standing figures facing the viewer in Byzantine hieratic style: at left, the Doge Jacopo Tiepolo wearing ducal robes and receiving a gonfalon (banner) from Saint Mark, who stands at right in pontifical vestments with a nimbus. Both figures are rendered in high relief with finely beaded inner borders framing the scene. The Latin legend runs along the outer border of the coin, reading IA TEVPL and S M VENETI, identifying the Doge and the patron saint of Venice.
