| Reverse description | A seated frontal figure of Saint Syr (Syrus), patron bishop of Pavia, is depicted enthroned in full episcopal vestments, wearing a mitre and holding a crozier in his right hand while raising his left hand in blessing. The saint is rendered in a formal, hieratic Gothic style typical of Lombard coinage of the 1360s. A beaded inner border frames the central image, while the surrounding legend in Gothic lettering names the saint and the city of Pavia. The hammered flan displays the characteristic irregular edge of hand-struck medieval silver coinage. |
