| Reverse description | Christ Pantocrator is depicted enthroned facing, nimbate, raising his right hand in benediction and holding the Gospels in his left hand, in the tradition of Byzantine-influenced Venetian coinage. The Greek Christological abbreviations IC and XC appear in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the enthroned figure. A beaded or dotted inner circle frames the central image. The surrounding legend reads TIBI LAVS 3 GLORIA, a devotional inscription proclaiming praise and glory. The overall design reflects the strong Byzantine artistic heritage of the Venetian grosso series. |
