The saint is shown in long robes, rendered in a flat, stylized manner consistent with late medieval Balkan ecclesiastical iconography. The peripheral legend in uncial Latin reads S STEFAN-SCVTARI, identifying both the saint and the mint city of Scutari. The reverse field is worn but retains the principal design elements characteristic of this grosso type.
