| Reverse description | Bust of Saint Paul the Apostle in right-facing profile, rendered with bold relief, depicting a bearded, mature man with flowing hair and a nimbus (present on the A·XVI issue of 1716). He is shown with a draped shoulder and the truncation of his bust visible at lower right. The surrounding circular legend ·S·PAVLVS· APOST is distributed across the upper and right fields. A finely milled denticled border frames the design. The nimbus distinguishes the 1716 issue from the earlier 1715 striking on which it is absent. |
