The shield, elaborately decorated with scrollwork and cartouche elements, occupies the majority of the field. The surrounding legend, divided by the shield, reads BENED·XIV in the left arc and PON·M·A· with the regnal year numeral in the right arc. The coin is struck within a fine beaded border. |
