| Obverse description | Papal arms of Benedict XIII occupying the central field, composed of the tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter set above a quartered shield bearing the Orsini family arms, all rendered in high relief. Radiate rays emanate from behind the tiara, lending the design a celestial quality characteristic of early eighteenth-century papal coinage. The circular legend surrounds the arms along the entire periphery, separated from the milled border by a narrow flat rim. |
