| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold Latin cross with expanding arms, dividing the coin into four quarters, each containing a stylized Gothic floral or leaf motif rendered in relief. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the peripheral legend runs in uncial Latin characters separated by floral rosette stops. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered medieval coinage, with the cross design occasionally running to the inner border. The overall composition reflects the Lombard grosso tradition of the 14th century. |

The saint raises his right hand in a gesture of benediction and holds a pastoral staff (crozier) in his left hand. The figure is rendered in the stylized Gothic manner characteristic of northern Italian ecclesiastical coinage of the early Trecento, seated or standing on an ornamented base. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin identifies the saint, and the composition is enclosed within a beaded circle. |
