| Obverse description | Central field depicts a facing bust of Saint John the Baptist, shown with long hair and a nimbus, rendered in a Gothic hammered style typical of early sixteenth-century Silesian coinage. The saint is presented within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding circular legend reads S IOHANNES BAPTISTA, identifying the patron saint of the city of Breslau.
