| Reverse description | A long cross extending to the inner legend divides the field into four quarters. Two concentric circular legends surround the central cross, the inner legend containing a religious invocation and the outer legend bearing the mint name and date in Roman numerals. The inscription MCCCLXXIIII records the year of issue. The arrangement follows the Tournois groschen typology, adapted for Aachen municipal coinage. The lettering is rendered in uncial script throughout. |
