Obverse description Central field contains a seven-line funerary inscription in German Gothic (Fraktur) script recording the biographical dates of Eleonora Dorothea, Princess of Anhalt and widow of Duke William IV of Saxe-Weimar, including her birth on 6 February 1602, her death on 26 December 1664, and her Christian burial on 6 February 1665. The inscription is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a circular outer legend in Gothic script naming the deceased. The coin is struck in the hammered tradition typical of mid-seventeenth-century German minor coinage, with a milled or grained border visible along the coin's periphery.
