The shield displays the four heraldic quarters associated with the abbatial see. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design within a toothed border, incorporating the abbreviated titles of Abbot Placidus von Droste as Prince-Abbot of Fulda, Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, and Arch-Chancellor, along with the initials S·M (for die-cutter Sebastian Müller). |
