Obverse description Seven-line Latin inscription filling the central field, reading IN AMOREM MATRIS DEF. D.D. MAGDAL. SIBYLLAE ELECTAE SAX. E DOMO M. BRAND., commemorating the deceased Electoral Princess Magdalene Sibylle of Brandenburg. The legend IOHAN. GEORG. II. ELECT. S.R.I. ARCHIM. runs along the outer circular border, identifying the issuing authority, Elector John George II of Saxony. A small cross or ornamental mark appears at the top of the coin above the inscription.
