背面描述 A bold cross pattee divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing a small heraldic shield of arms in Gothic style, representing the various territorial possessions of the Hohenzollern Margraves of Brandenburg. A continuous Latin uncial legend encircles the entire design within a beaded border, concluding with a date reference rendered in the abbreviated form typical of early sixteenth-century German groschen coinage. The hammered flan produces a slightly uneven surface with characteristic irregularity at the edges.

附加信息

Brandenburg's joint coinage under Joachim I and Albert IV reflects the Hohenzollern practice of fraternal co-rule following the 1499 division of territorial administration — Joachim holding the Kurmark, Albert the Neumark. The arrangement was administratively awkward and politically tense, and the brothers' shared coinage was one of the few expressions of nominal unity during a period when their competing interests created chronic friction within the electorate.

Bahrf. 99b distinguishes this variety from related issues by die details that remain a point of contention among specialists in Brandenburg bracteate and groschen series.
