Obverse description Four-fold quartered coat of arms of the County of Stolberg displayed within a circular inner ring, bearing the joint titles of co-rulers Christoph II and Heinrich Volrad. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield, running along the coin's periphery. The heraldic design is rendered in the late medieval hammered style typical of small German territorial coinages of the early seventeenth century.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, with spread wings and the numeral 3 set within a globus cruciger on the breast, denoting the coin's value of 3 Kreuzer. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, carrying the titles of Holy Roman Emperor Matthias. The design follows the standard Reichsmünzordnung type for small silver groschen of this period.
