| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned and quartered heraldic shield displaying the combined arms of the Brandenburg-Hohenzollern territories, including the arms of Jülich, Cleves, and Berg, rendered in the crude hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century German provincial coinage. The shield is surmounted by a large electoral crown and flanked by small ornamental devices in the field. The Latin legend surrounding the device reads DEVS RE - FVG ME, an abbreviated invocation meaning 'God is my refuge.' The overall relief is irregular, consistent with hand-struck production. |
