Aanvullende informatie

Frederick II — Frederick the Great — debased Prussian silver coinage aggressively during and after the Seven Years' War, a period when the mint at Königsberg was effectively weaponized to fund military operations through currency manipulation. By the time this groschen type was issued in 1771, Frederick had stabilized the coinage somewhat, but the cumulative distrust from wartime debasement meant these small silvers circulated in a commercial environment still scarred by the preceding decade's monetary damage. The multiple KM variants reflect output across different mints operating under royal license during his reign.
