Obverse description Central field dominated by a large capital letter 'A' — the initial of Bishop Ernest August — surmounted by a princely crown, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads SOLA BONA QUAE HONESTA (Only good things are honourable), rendered in Latin capital letters. The overall style is characteristic of mid-17th-century German ecclesiastical hammered coinage, with a flat, irregular flan typical of the period.
