Obverse description Central field dominated by the quartered arms of the Abbey of Fulda, featuring a bold cross dividing the shield into four quarters, with ornamental devices in each quarter; the shield is surmounted by a bishop's mitre and flanked by decorative baroque scrollwork. A circular inner beaded border encloses the armorial design. The surrounding legend reads CONST:D.G·PR·& ABB·FULD, identifying Constantine of Buttlar by the Grace of God as Prince and Abbot of Fulda, rendered in raised Latin lettering.
