This is a joint-issue groschen from the Principality of Anhalt during its unusual period of collective rule, when six Ascanian princes governed the territory simultaneously under an arrangement that required all their names to appear on coinage. 1622 places it squarely in the monetary chaos of the Kipper- und Wipperzeit — the great debasement crisis of 1619–1623 in which mints across the Holy Roman Empire engaged in competitive currency manipulation, clipping and debasing silver coinage to exploit exchange rate arbitrage. Anhalt was not immune to these pressures.
The sheer number of co-rulers listed made this already a logistically awkward issue to produce.
