Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line commemorative inscription filling the entire field, reading IN MEMORIAM IUBILEI DE REFORMAT ECCLES IN URBE BR SUB AUSPICIIS AUGUSTI WILHELMI AUGUSTIS ANNO REGIM: XIV CELEBRATI DV SEIT MDCCXXVIII / 1 G GR / HCH, commemorating the jubilee of the Reformation of the church in the city of Brunswick, celebrated in the fourteenth year of August Wilhelm's reign. The text is arranged in nine horizontal lines across the flat field with no additional decorative devices, consistent with the plain commemorative style common to early eighteenth-century German groschen. The denomination and mintmaster's initials HCH appear at the foot of the inscription.
