| Obverse description | Central field displays the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Paderborn within an oval cartouche, featuring the crossed keys of the see alongside additional heraldic elements of the incumbent bishop. The shield is surmounted by a mitre or ecclesiastical ornament. A beaded inner circle surrounds the arms, with the Latin legend TEO·A·FVR·D·G·E·P arranged around the periphery, abbreviating the name and titles of the issuing bishop. The coin was struck by the hammered technique, giving it a characteristic irregular flan with slightly uneven edges. |
