Aanvullende informatie

Frederick William III inherited a Prussia already straining under the financial pressures that would culminate in the catastrophic defeats at Jena and Auerstedt in 1806. The Napoleonic occupation that followed forced a sweeping reorganization of Prussian coinage, and low-denomination billon issues like this one were produced across a span that straddles both the pre- and post-collapse administrations.

At 9 mm, this is among the smallest coins struck under the Hohenzollern mint system — easy to lose, easy to overlook, and consequently far more elusive in collectible condition than its humble face value would suggest.
