Obverse description Shield bearing the quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy, surmounted by an ornate crown that bisects the inner beaded circle. The armorial shield fills the central field, displaying the dynastic heraldic devices of the Habsburg-Burgundian rulers. The legend runs along the outer periphery, interrupted by the crown at the top. The overall design is characteristic of the hammered billon coinage of the Habsburg Low Countries in the early sixteenth century.
