Reverse description A cross pattee at centre, contained within an inner circle that does not intersect the surrounding legend. In each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross appears an initial letter representing one of the four principal cities of the duchy. The peripheral legend, struck in Gothic majuscules, identifies the coin as a new issue of Arnhem. The design follows the standard Netherlandish gros format of the period, with a clean field and well-defined cross arms.
