| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned facing bust of King Robert III rendered in a somewhat crude, archaic style typical of late 14th-century Scottish hammered coinage, set within a beaded inner circle. The king is depicted full-face with a prominent crown, the bust occupying the central field. A pellet or annulet appears at the base of the neck. The surrounding legend is contained between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border, reading ROBERTVS DEI GRA REX SCOT in uncial lettering. The overall style reflects the characteristic flat, two-dimensional treatment of Scottish groats of this period. |
