The cross arms terminate at the inner border and serve as the principal compositional element. A two-line legend in uncial characters surrounds the design, reading DNS PTECTOR MS LIBATOR MS in the inner legend and VILLA DE PERTH in the outer legend, identifying the mint town of Perth. The legends are separated by a beaded tressure. The composition closely follows the format established by David II and echoes the Edwardian groat type. |
