Reverse description Three crowns arranged vertically in the field, a device traditionally associated with the lordship of Ireland, superimposed over a voided long cross whose terminals each terminate in triple pellets. The legend, in Lombardic Gaelic characters, is divided into four segments by the arms of the cross and reads around the full circumference of the coin. The composition is characteristic of the Dublin mint coinage struck under English royal authority during the reign of Richard III.
