Obverse description The field is dominated by the tenfold quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy, displayed within a large heraldic shield. The composite escutcheon incorporates the dynastic quarterings of the Habsburg and Burgundian inheritances, including lions, billets, and the eagle, rendered in the bold, somewhat angular style typical of late-medieval hammered coinage. The shield is centrally positioned and occupies nearly the full flan. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the abbreviated Latin legend running along the outer periphery.
