| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the combined arms of Austria, Burgundy, and Flanders, including the distinctive Flemish lion in at least one quarter. The shield is set within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded or toothed outer border. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner and outer borders, identifying Philip as Archduke of Austria, Burgundy, and Count of Flanders. The hammered flan exhibits typical irregular edges and surface texture consistent with late 15th-century Flemish coinage. |
