Reverse description Central design features an ornate floriated long cross with fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm, dividing the field into four quarters. The cross is elaborately rendered in the late Gothic style, with each arm terminating in a trefoil or fleur-de-lis flourish characteristic of Burgundian billon coinage of this period. A beaded inner circle frames the cross, separating it from the peripheral legend. The outer legend in Gothic uncial script reads BENEDIC ANIMA MEA DOMINO followed by the date 1478, the devotional phrase translating as 'My soul, bless the Lord.' The reverse composition is typical of Flemish groot coinage under Mary of Burgundy, combining religious iconography with dynastic heraldic elements.
