The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner ring, surrounded by the outer circumferential legend in uncial Gothic letters reading the ruler's titles. The die work is characteristic of late 14th-century Flemish hammered coinage, with bold relief heraldic imagery and a plain flat field. |
