| Opis awersu | Central field dominated by a large plain cross pattée with slightly expanded arms, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The intermediate zone between the inner and outer legends features four Gothic letter groupings in the quadrants formed by the cross, reading the issuer's title. The outer circular Latin legend runs along the full periphery and is separated from the inner zone by a beaded border. The overall design follows the Flemish groot tradition closely modelled on the French royal gros tournois, executed in a bold hammered style typical of early 14th-century Flemish coinage. |
