| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of James IV set within an inner circle, depicted with flowing hair falling to either side of the neck in a stylised late-Gothic manner. Four small mullets (stars) flank the king's neck, two to each side, serving as decorative devices in the field. The royal crown is rendered with prominent fleurs-de-lis and is shown full-face above the effigy. The circumferential legend in uncial Gothic lettering reads IACOBVS DEI GRA REX SCOTTORVM IIII, separated by pellet stops, running between two beaded borders. |
