| Beschrijving keerzijde | A voided long cross pattée extends to the coin's edge, dividing the reverse field into four quarters; alternate quarters contain a group of three pellets and a six-pointed mullet respectively, forming the distinctive cross-and-mullet arrangement characteristic of Scottish groats of this period. Each quarter is further defined by the arms of the cross, which terminate at the inner beaded circle. A double legend surrounds the design, the outer circumferential inscription naming the mint town of Edinburgh, separated from the inner legend by a beaded border, all lettered in uncial script with pellet stops. |
