| Beschrijving keerzijde | A quartered royal shield of arms, displaying the fleurs-de-lis of France and the passant guardant lions of England in alternate quarters, superimposed upon a long cross fourchée that extends to the coin's inner circle. The shield is rendered in the bold, simplified style characteristic of hammered billon groats of this period. A Latin legend reading CIVI TAS EBO RACI is disposed around the field, identifying the York mint. The cross fourchée terminates in forked ends at the coin's periphery, dividing the surrounding legend into four sections. |
