Obverse description Facing crowned bust of Henry VI set within an inner tressure of nine arches, rendered in the typical Gothic style of early fifteenth-century English coinage. The king's effigy is depicted full-face with a stylised crown, jewelled cross at centre, and the neck truncation visible at the base. Rosettes and mascles punctuate the circumferential legend, serving as the defining ornaments of this specific issue. The legend is contained between two concentric beaded borders.
