Reverse description A bold long cross pattee divides the field into four quarters, each quarter adorned with three pellets arranged in a trefoil formation, characteristic of the Rosette-mascle issue. A beaded inner circle surrounds the central cross, with the arms of the cross extending to the coin's edge. The circumferential legend, interspersed with rosettes and mascles as punctuation marks, identifies the Calais mint with the distinctive VIL LA CALI SIE spelling. Two concentric beaded borders frame the outer legend.
