| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Edward III set within a cusped tressure of four arches, the king depicted with long flowing hair falling to either side and wearing a ornate crown decorated with fleurs-de-lis. The effigy is rendered in the Gothic style typical of Treaty period groats, with the bust truncated at the shoulders. Small trefoil ornaments appear at the cusps of the inner tressure. The Latin legend, separated from the inner field by a beaded border, reads + EDWARD DEI G REX ANGL DNS hYB Z AQT, proclaiming Edward's royal titles over England, Ireland, and Aquitaine. |
