| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned bust of Edward I within a cusped quatrefoil frame, the king depicted with stylised hair and a simple crown, rendered in the bold, slightly crude manner characteristic of late 13th-century English hammered coinage. The bust occupies the central field, enclosed within a four-lobed inner circle formed by the quatrefoil border. An outer beaded circle frames the design, with the royal legend inscribed in the annular space between the two circles. The lettering is executed in uncial Latin characters, reading EDWARDVS : D`I : GRA` : REX : ANGL`, proclaiming Edward by the Grace of God King of England. |
