| Beschrijving keerzijde | Long voided cross pattée extending to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters each filled with three small trefoils or lis ornaments, creating the characteristic quartered design of Scottish medieval groats. A beaded inner circle frames the central cross motif, while a two-line legend in uncial Latin characters occupies the space between the inner and outer beaded borders, the outer legend naming the Edinburgh mint. The overall design follows the contemporaneous English groat prototype introduced under Edward III. |
