| Additional information |
Ramon Perellos y Roccaful served as Grand Master from 1697 to 1720, presiding over the Order during a period of mounting Ottoman pressure and the slow erosion of Hospitaller naval power in the eastern Mediterranean. The grano was the smallest denomination struck under his authority, intended for daily transactions among Malta's resident population rather than the Order's own knights, who operated largely outside the copper economy.
KM#140 is known with minor die variations across the minting span.
